Hi,

I had internet installed at our home last week. Every device gets reasonable speeds with one exception: my laptop. While our other laptops and phones get 140Mbps, my laptop gets speeds that are basically unusable (around 0.1Mbps to 0.5Mbps if I’m lucky).

The laptop in question is a 2017 Macbook Pro running macOS 11.0.1. The modem is a KPN Box 12. Are there some settings on the modem that I can change to improve the situation?

Hello @number1alien, welcome to our forum!

Strange that you're experiencing issues with the wifi connection on your Maxbook Pro. The Experia Box V12 supports wifi 6, but not all devices are compatible with wifi 6. Therefore, I'd like to advise you to change something in the wifi settings.

  1. Go to mijnmodem.kpn
  2. Log in. For this you can use the username and password that you can find on the back of the V12.
  3. Go to the wifi settings.
  4. Go to ‘Advanced’.
  5. Change ‘Wireless Mode’ to 802.11b.

This should do the trick.
