You need an real SIM to activate the E-SIM, so go to the KPN store, they can help you.

I'm sorry to hear your phone broke  As Speedmaster explained, it's not possible to activate an E-sim when the phone with the active E-sim is not working any more, and a physical sim card is needed to activate it again.

Hopefully you've managed to visit a KPN store by now!

And if you still have a working iPhone with e-sim but you want to install it on a new phone. Is that possible or do you really need to have a physical simcard. This seems unnecessary because I can receive sms on current (old) phone.

Don't worry @fbolder, if you still have a working phone where your E-sim is activated, you don't need a physical sim card
