Hello

I am changing my phone company, and I was interested in getting a subscription in KPN. However, I do have some doubts that I would like to resolve before deciding.

  1. I am looking at the plan Unlimited 50, and I notice that it starts at 21 euros and ends up at 27 euros per month after a year. Is it possible to get a subscription only for a year, instead of 2? since I do not know if I will be in the Netherlands afterwards. And what would be the price, for that year?
  2. When should I do the change in number? My current plan lasts until November 30/December the 1st, so I am curious if it can be done in that time period
  3. Can I keep my current phone number? It’s from Vodafone, and they say I can do it so far as the other company agrees
  4. I am currently in the UK. Is it possible to do it with an Esim? Can I do it somehow from the UK?

Thank you for your help,

Joaquin

Hi @Joaquin Farina, welcome! Good to see you doing your research before committing. I have answers for you :)

  1. Yes, you can do a contract for a year.  The Unlimited 50 has a base price of €27,50 a month for a 2-year contract. If you scroll down the order page to this section, you can change this to 1-year or monthly. Each of these options will increase the base price a bit. The one year contract has a base of €28,50. The monthly contract is €30. Base price in this case means without the bonus for having KPN Internet at home. If you have, you would get a monthly discount of €5.
  2. & 3. You can keep your number if it is a NL number. Indicate, when ordering, you would like ‘nummerbehoud’. This step happens on page two of the ordering process, after you've made your choices for type of subscription, contract terms and simtype.
You will then be asked to enter your current number and relevant contract identification with your current provider as well as the date you would like to transfer. Be advised that most providers maintain a one month notice. So you will be able to order now and have the contract start and number transfer, happen per the date one month later.
  1. Yes, you can order with esim. During ordering you can scroll down to point 5 to choose between physical sim and esim. If you are not yet in the Netherlands at the time of activation, that is not a problem. The only requirement for activation is being connected to wifi, and then just follow the instructions you will be receiving.

We have, in Dutch, an articel available with more information on how esim works with us:
