Hello. Recently I started having problems with Wi-Fi extender and
wanted to log into the modem admin site (for the first time), but
found it impossible to do because the admin password printed on the
back of the modem uses some kind of dash symbol. This is my guess
though, I don't know if this is the reason, but I tried multiple
variants, and still no luck. The dash looks about the right size for
the typographical minus sign (i.e. longer than hyphen that's typically
used for all kinds of dashes because it's immediately accessible from
most keyboard layouts).
As a consequence, it would be nice if:
a. You never used characters that aren't immediately available on
European or US keyboard layouts.
b. Use monospace font for writing passwords because the amount of
space surrounding some typographical characters is ambigous in
the font you've chosen: it's possible to interpret it as having
spaces around symbols.
To make this more concrete, these are the combinations I tried:
1F:d6s — Z;w
1F:d6s—Z;w
1F:d6s-Z;w
1F:d6s - Z;w
Ideally, it would be also great not to use similar symbols. Colon and
semicolon create problems for people with impaired vision, especially in
the selected font.
All this said: is there any way to log into the admin panel if I
cannot guess my password?
Thank you!
