I got a SuperWifi 2 because there’re some places from my house that wifi doesn’t reach very well. and while the signal seems to be better in those places, the connection keeps dropping every 30 seconds and trying to reconnect again.

And if it’s not disconnecting it has big ping spikes every 10 seconds too and the speed tests come back with a 60mbps while in the other room closer to the modem it goes close to 98mbps

Already tried a hard reset but the issue persists.

Hi and welcome to the KPN community @GastonGual.

We gathered a lót of information in this article below, to help you install your SuperWifi. I hope you're able to translate it, with Google Translate maybe, because it's in Dutch :)

You can always call with our customerservice on phonenumber 0800-0402, for some extra help with this. That way my colleagues will help you right away.

Thanks for the link but the installation is not the problem, it looks like I’ve done everything right but the wifi connection from the super wifi is SUPER unstable. Is it possible to have a technician come see the issue?

Hi @GastonGual, Alexandra has a couple of days off so I'm taking over.

May I ask which router you have? Also, how are the SuperWiFi's connected and at what distance from the router?

its the kpn box 12b. they are about 10-11 meters apart. which is already odd the router doesnt reach me here that well.

Besides this would it be possible to send a technician to my place to fix the connectivity issues?

thank you very much!

@GastonGual 10 - 11 meters is a lot though, the standard wifi range of modems is mostly a maximum of 10 meters. This goes for the KPN Box 12 as well. You could try moving them a bit closer and try again.

Yes, it is possible to make an appointment with a mechanic to help you fix the wifi issues, but it isn't for free. The starting rate is €70 for 45 minutes. On the page below you'll find more information and there you can make the appointment if you wish. You can also call with our customer service for help with this: in the Netherlands at the free number 0800-0402 or at +316 1200 1200.

@Alexandra van KPN I tried calling but everything is in dutch 😅

Allright, will try to make an appointment online. But do you think this is something they can solve? or am I doomed to have a weak wifi in my office? Just trying to see my options here.

Thanks!

@GastonGual You should be able to voice your question at a certain point in the menu, but I can imagine that it's very hard with the menu being in Dutch, indeed.

I'm sure that it's fixable, don't worry about that 🙂 My second guess is that moving your SuperWifi's a bit closer can solve a lot. You can follow the instructions in our SuperWifi topic by translating them, and try again. Otherwise you can make the appointment zo the mechanic can help you solve the wifi issues!
