Roaming charge voor dataverbruik in Albanië

I am currently traveling in Albania and was recently charged €60 for just 24 MB of roaming data. I believe this charge is incorrect and am requesting an immediate refund.

As you may know, since 1 July 2021, Albania participates in the EU–Western Balkans Roaming Agreement, which provides for roam-like-at-home conditions between EU countries and Albania. Therefore, data usage in Albania should be billed at domestic Dutch rates, without high surcharges.

Despite this, I was charged an excessive amount, which I believe violates the current roaming agreement. I kindly request that you:

1. Refund the €60 charge applied for roaming data in Albania.

2. Confirm that my future data usage in Albania will follow domestic rates, as required under the Western Balkans roaming agreement.

Hello @Vitor menezes, welcome to the KPN Community!

I understand that you're shocked by the invoice of € 60,50 for roaming. Unfortunately, I have to inform you that the invoice is correct. As @Noordzee also mentioned, Albania is not part of Roam Like Home. Which you can check on our website: Internet en bellen met buitenlandbundels | Roaming. Fill in which country you're visiting and it will show you what the costs for roaming are.

As such, I have to also inform you that we will not refund the costs you have made while roaming in Albania.

But I do advise you to text bescherming aan to 1266. This lowers the limit of data roaming to € 0,- when you're abroad. In countries outside of Roam Like Home you can then no longer roam data, unless you have a bundle. This way you're protected against high costs.

Hallo @Vitor menezes ,

Sowieso dit meteen uitvoeren:

Beschermingslimiet aanpassen

KPN gaat verder niets vergoeden.

Albanie hoort niet bij de EU.

Google Translate:

In any case, do this immediately:

Adjust protection limit
If you want to lower the protection limit to 0 euros, you can do so: SMS protection on to 1266

You set the limit to 0,- and you will not be able to use mobile internet outside the EU until you turn the limit back on yourself (protection off to 1266) or activate a favorable Extra foreign bundle.

KPN will not reimburse anything further.

Albania is not part of the EU

Hello @Vitor menezes

Did you actually read the EU/WB Roaming Declaration?
I don't see anything in it that confirms what you claim it stands for: Joint EU-Western Balkans Declaration on Roaming

Until now only a limited amount of telecom companies have signed the document and KPN isn't one of them.
For the latest document with companies who offer lower rates: https://www.rcc.int/download/docs/links%20-%20reduced%20roaming%20offers.pdf/84460e2dd6ae37702b024d1c31f9c089.pdf
