The devolo cockpit software is up and running but when I hit the check update button I am receiving this (while my network connection is running perfectly) : 
 

Any advice ?

thanks for sharing the link, but it doesn’t solve my problem with lack of 2.7.0.02-2 drivers. 

ok, so i can reply to myself as I have sent the question to Devolo support about  Devolo Cockpit software and internet connection message: 
there is nothing wrong with your pc - its just Devolo who shut off the server….
 

Ah, it’s good to know that the update server is down on their end. That’s unfortunate, but updating via the Cockpit software won’t work then.

You can still check the link that JanD shared earlier to see if the correct update file is available there. Scroll down to “Veelgestelde vragen over de Draadloze Verbindingsset” and click on “Hoe update ik de software voor de Draadloze Verbindingsset 200+, 650 of 1200?”. There you’ll find the zip-file for your specific DVS model, which you can download and install.
