Fiber cable 4 meters from my door but not available according to the website

I just moved here a few weeks ago so please forgive me for not speaking Dutch.

My address says that fiber is in my neighborhood but not yet available at my address. It says that I am getting fiber and they expect to hook it up soon. I can see the fiber cable at the street not 4 meters from my door.

My question is, do I need to make an appointment to get this installed in the house or is this something KPN will contact me to do when they are ready to install it?

The process of connecting fiber, can be a lengthy one. With many steps, each taking some time to be completed. Having the fiber cable at your door, does not mean the rest of the connection is ready for use. It's possible there is no fiber optic hub yet for your street/neighborhood, so the fiber for your address can't be connected to the distribution system yet. Do you have an active KPN subscription, via our copper network? Or don't you have a connection yet? I suggest you contact our customer service to check if your order for fiber can be placed. You can contact us via Facebook and X, but it's also possible to schedule a phone call, where we will call you back at the time of your preference.  You can request the phone call via our digitale assistent (scroll to the bottom of the page).
