I can't find the connection to install the modem, what to do?

Hi - we just received our modem and I'm having trouble installing it. I cannot seem to find any connection port which looks like the ones in the online guide.

What's the best way to go about this? Unfortunately, I try to get a phone call appointment scheduled and because I do not have a Dutch number, it does not work. What is my best next step here?

HI @Helplease1 , what subscription did you get: DSL or glass fiber?

Glass fiber is usually in the meterkast, DSL can be either in the meterkast or in the living room.

Als DSL is based on telephone lines, connections may look differently from the manual (most phone lines are over 30 years old and connection standards have changed over the years).

I believe it's DSL as when I initially put my address in online, it said fiber was not available at my address.

From what I can see in the living room, it looks like a coaxial connection in my wall and my Ethernet will not fit in there.

My package does come with this other cord/box, which has to Ethernet ports, and the end are blue, white, and red wires, but I don't know where this would plug in to to be completely honest..

Can you find this anywhere in your house?

We have not seen that anywhere.

That’s a pity. Maybe there is still a telephone stub left in your meterkast. Is it an appartment, or does this concern a house?

That’s coax - probably for Ziggo services. KPN does not deliver over coax.

In case of an apartment, maybe you can check with the neighbours where their phone line comes in the house?

Yeah that's what I'm gathering, that's a bit annoying... I will ask neighbors though. If that's the case do I just need to cancel and go to another provider?

You could still consider a tech guy from KPN. Maybe they can find out where your phone line has gone. It is still mandatory to have a phone line in the Netherlands, so it cannot have disappeared :)

Yeah I will try and get in touch. Do you happen to have any idea how to contact them with a non Dutch number? If not I will hopefully just find a store and go in and ask.

You better go to a store then. KPN cannot be reached by a non-Dutch phone number.

@Helplease1 Maybe you can try this number:

From abroad you can call the number +316 1200 1200

I saw this in a topic from a few months back
