I'm poor at Dutch so I write in English.

I installed fiber optic internet connection. The fiber optic box is inside the meter box outside of my room, so I had to put the modem also inside the meter box.

The wifi is very weak in my room. Also I can't connect my devices to the modem.

I want to put the modem inside my door. To do that, I'm thinking of buying longer red cable that can reach to my living room.

Is there any problem doing it?

Also KPN says that I can get free cable if the provided one is too short. However I could not find it. Does anyone know how I can ask for it?

It says that you can order it through mijn.kpn.com but those cables aren’t that expensive. Besides, I can’t find it either on Mijn KPN.

You can buy them at your local DIY construction market (Gamma, Praxis, Hornbach). You need Cat 5E or better ethernet cable. They come in different lengths, I have seen them up to 20 meters.

Thank you for the information.

I'll check the KPN store and DIY stores to compare prices. I'm not familiar with the cable type so your advise is really helpful. Thanks a lot.

As an KPN technician I can also recommend alle kabels.nl with cat5e cables. Or you can call KPN at 0800-0402 and they will send you an voucher to order a free cable at apparatuurvoorthuis.kpn.com

Thanks Speedmaster and Ik_Combineer.

The cat5e cable with flat cord looks perfect. It's not that expensive so I'll just purchase one.
