How to move my modem, to improve Wifi signal?

Hallo allemaal! My dutch is not yet great, so I will explain my problem in English, hope that's okay!

I have a KPN box 12 modem with Glasvezels, and I have been experiencing connection issues, only while gaming on my Playstation 5.

There seems to be a temporary drop of a couple of seconds, where I get a "Wifi connection lost" issue. I checked the speed and it's fine, also packet loss is at 0%.

The only idea that I can think of is to move the modem closer to my living room where the PS5 is, and that's why I'm writing: a KPN technician mentioned that it's possible to move the modem when they came for the installation, but I am really not an expert in the matter and I'm not sure how it could be done. I tried looking online, but did not find the same aansluitpunt I have.

The modem is currently in the meterkast, with its glasvezel kastje. The connection point in the living room has three connections, I am attaching pictures of everything I mentioned.

Dear @gio.cre

you do indeed need 2 cables, 1 from the fiber optic box to the connection point and 1 cable from the connection point in the room to the router.
I think the connection point in the last photo is an IS/RA point for copper connections.
Try to put the yellow LAN cable that now runs from the fiber optic box to the router in one of those holes, I don't think it will fit.
Then you should still look in the meter cupboard to see if there is another connection point that is connected to the connection point in the living room.
An IS/RA point used RJ11 plugs (small) and a LAN connection used RJ45 plugs (larger)
Good luck.

Dear @gio.cre you can place your modem everywhere in the house.

You only need a proper LAN-cable to connect your router with the fiberunit (glasvezelkast) in the meter cupboard (meterkast)

Thank you! @JanD

But does that mean I have to run a LAN-cable from the meterkast to the living room? Can I not use the extra attachments in the wall? (The one I posted in the first picture)

Dear @gio.cre

That would be possible via the right point in the photo, provided the other side comes out in the meter cupboard. The left connection in the photo cannot be used with fiber optics.

Thank you again for your help @JanD !

So if I understand correctly, I will need 2 cables, one to attach the modem to the connection in the wall, and one to attach the "glasvezelkastje" to another connection in the meterkast, correct?

Do I then need to connect the glasvezelkastje to this connection that I am showing in the picture? What kind of cable would I need?

And, @gio.cre, did you succeed?

@Denise van KPN Yes!

Thank you so much to @JanD for explaining, in the end there was a loose cable hanging from the ceiling in the meterkast (I didn't consider it because it was just a white cable with nothing written on it), I attached that to the glasvezelkastje, then moved the modem to the connection point in the living room and now it works!

Dear @gio.cre

nice to read that it all worked out and works well.
Have fun with your connection and I enjoyed helping you.
My English is just as good as your Dutch, but Google translate is a handy tool.😉😎
