My wifi network disappears after a restart of the Box 12b

Hi KPN Community,

I recently got a new KPN Fibre connection installed at home with a KPN Box 12b router. The technician came today and set everything up and all lights on the modem are green.

However, during the installation the Wi-Fi network wasn't showing up at all. The technician mentioned it was a known bug and after a few resets, the Wi-Fi eventually appeared and worked fine.

The problem is: after I turned the modem off and back on again, the Wi-Fi has disappeared again and is no longer visible on any of my devices. even though all the lights on the router are still green.

I've already tried:
- Turning the modem off and on again (multiple times)
- Waiting several minutes for it to fully boot

Has anyone experienced this with the KPN Box 12b? Is there a specific reset procedure that fixes this permanently, or is this a firmware issue that KPN needs to resolve on their end?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi @asterik208! That's strange and I would like to assist you with these issues. Do you exclusively use the KPN modem or are there other devices in play, like Wifi repeaters, switches or a separate router?

You could try a factory default again if restarting doesn't work.

Box 12 reset
Take a toothpick, paperclip, or another pointed object.
Find the reset hole at the back of the modem. It is located above the on/off switch (see the image).
Press the reset button until the power light starts to glow red. Then release the button immediately.
The box will now restart. This may take 10-15 minutes.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance!
