Please release my number for transfer to another provider

I purchased a new SIM card from a company other than yours. That company contacted you and submitted a cancellation or number transfer request to move the line from your service to the new provider.

The new company informed me that the number cannot be transferred and the service cannot start unless you release the number. The correspondence between you indicates that the service or the ownership of the number will be transferred from your company to the new provider on 17 February. This date is very far away and I do not want it.

I am requesting that your company release the number so that I can start the service with the new provider as soon as possible — today or tomorrow if possible. I do not want to wait until 17 February.

Did you have a paid subscription?

If so, you have a month-long contract ending period to cancel it.

Unfortunately, you need to sit this out.

Opening hours:

  • Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 18:00
  • Saturday from 08:00 to 17:00

Hi ​@Abdrhmn, welcome to the community! This is most likely due to the one-month notice period that applies to a KPN subscription. When you switch providers and keep your number, the number stays active until the end of that notice period. The date 17 February fits with that.

Unfortunately, KPN cannot release the number before this end date. This is arranged to prevent a number from expiring too early or becoming temporarily unreachable.

Hopefully, this makes things clearer.
