KPN Landline does not work

I have the same problem. My KPN router does not detect the phone any more. When the router manages to see the phone (vasta phone) again, a phone call causes the router to restart.

Vaste bellen (landline calling) stopped working during the past 7 days.

  • the KPN router does not see the phone any more (no green light)
  • I cannot make calls any more. Tried to dial, no luck.
  • Internet is working fine.

Steps to try to fix the issue :

  • The online self test says there is no fault in my area.
  • I did the self test on the website where you have to restart the router, change the port of the phone cable, reset the router, turn off the phone, turn off the router. None of this helps.
  • The one thing which helped is : unplugging the grey cable between the router and the landline phone brings the light back on and I can dial a number. However, a phone call causes the router to restart.

KPN not reachable :

  • There is no option to call KPN on Saturday evening. Tried to call, they are closed.
  • There is no option to open a support ticket online.
  • There is no option to leave a message online.

Hello, I am trying to deal with the poor service from KPN. Monday 9 days ago my landline (vaste telefoon) was disconnected. My local store understands the issue but cannot help. I have been phoning every day since last weekend and it is difficult to speak to somebody with empathy who understands the inconvenience. All they could tell is KPN blocked my phone line for no reason. Three employees have looked for a reason and cannot explain why the phone line has been blocked. I pay my bills and not doing anything illegal or illegitimate with the phone line. One employee says he logged a ticket. The next two say they cannot see a ticket on the system. Complete lack of confidence from my part about what is being done. Beyond the inconvenience of having a disconnected phone line, I now have to deal with a service provider who simply does not care. Would somebody here have any recommendation please? Any tip to a solution?

Hi Bertrandh! That's unfortunate is it clear that the issue is administrative in nature and not technical? I would gladly check this for you. Could you fill out your profile with your postal code and the number of your house and leave a message here when you have completed this?

Thanks ​@bertrandh. I checked the connection and the VOIP Server gives an error when i try to ping it. I cannot find an indication that the connection is blocked myself. I see my colleagues of the customer support service lodged a complained to get this resolved.

Different employees find different information. One person told me not all systems show I have a block. But the main thing is I cannot make and receive calls. The problem remains unsolved. It is frustrating to speak to a number of KPN employees and not being able to understand what the problem is. Losing hope here.

KPN promised to have the landline (vast bellen) resotred today. At 17:30, it is not back in service.

I'm sorry but i've exhausted all the options I have as moderator. I tried syncing you're VOIP profile a couple of times but that didn't resolve the issue. We should let the complaint run it's course and if it takes to long I would I advise you to contact customer  support again.
