Ik denk graag mee. Begrijp ik het goed dat je de DrayTek Vigor2765ac gaat gebruiken in plaats van de KPN modem? Zo ja, dan tip ik jou onderstaand topic waar veel user verstand hebben van andere routers. Stel daar gerust en zo uitgebreid mogelijk je vraag, je krijgt ongetwijfeld een reactie van de ervaren users in dat topic.

I have made the switch from KPN to Budget Internet and was able to put my KPN Super WiFi points into good use again. I have followed the below steps to get to a working setup.

1. Connect and setup the DrayTek Vigor 2765ac following the steps in the installation guidelines from Budget Internet.
    
2. If the modem broadcasts Dual bands (2.4 and 5 GHz), perform the following steps to enable “Band Steering”. 
    

• Open a browser and type the router’s IP address: 192.168.1.1 (default for most DrayTek routers).
• Enter your admin username and password to access the router settings.
  
  Navigate to the Wireless Settings:
• Once logged in, go to LAN > Wireless > General Setup.

• Enable Band Steering:

  • You should see both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz options under the Wireless Settings.
  • Look for an option called Band Steering 
  • Enable this option. Once enabled, your router will combine the two bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) under a single SSID.
• Ensure that both bands are set to the same SSID name. This is crucial because if the names are different, devices will not be able to automatically switch between the two bands.
• You can also set the same password for both bands, which is typically the easiest way to ensure a smooth experience.

3. Connect the KPN Super Wifi #1 to a power source and press reset until you see the red light flash.
4. Connect the KPN Super Wifi #1 to a LAN Port on your DrayTek Vigor 2765ac and wait until the light remains stable green.
5. You can see that the KPN Super Wifi #1 broadcasts a different SSID and this is exactly the problem when we do not use it with a KPN router which forms a mesh network automatically. We are now going to solve this by setting the same SSID and password for our KPN Super WiFI points as broadcasted by the  DrayTek Vigor 2765ac.
6. You can find the IP address of KPN Super Wifi point #1 either by looking at the DHCP client list or by checking the overview diagram when you login to DrayTek Vigor 2765ac admin portal. You can also use the KPN “Thuis” app to find the IP address of the repeater. Using the KPN Thuis app you can also set an new admin password for the KPN Super Wifi point #1. I set it so as to match the DrayTek Vigor 2765ac admin password (for simplicity)
7. Once you have the IP address, login with the admin password you have set. Now change the SSID and password for KPN Super Wifi #1 to match the network broadcasted by the  DrayTek Vigor 2765ac.
8. This repeater has to stay connected by ethernet cable to DrayTek Vigor 2765ac as it is now an access point in our setup rather than the part of a mesh network as with the Kpn Experia box setup (KPN pre-configuration and setup made it possible earlier)

9. Connect the KPN Super Wifi #2 to a power source and press reset until you see the red light flash.
10. Connect the KPN Super Wifi #2 to another free LAN Port on your DrayTek Vigor 2765ac and wait until the light remains stable green.
11. KPN Super Wifi #2 can now be disconnected and moved to an area where you need coverage.
12. Repeat steps 9-11 for KPN Super Wifi #3 #4 and so on to add more repeaters. Only the first one need to remain connected to DrayTek Vigor 2765ac by ethernet cable
