Wifi gets disconnected each time. modem 14 black + wifi extender

Hi,

We switched from Ziggo (which worked perfectly fine) to KPN because of their promises — and honestly, it’s been a complete disaster.

We now have the Wifi 14 (black modem) + a Wifi extender. The modem is placed outside the house (don’t even ask why). And when I asked if it could be placed inside, the KPN employee actually suggested I BREAK THE MAIN WALL to move it inside. Who would dare living in a rented apartment to break a wall for WiFi?!

To even get signal inside, we had to use an extender. And still — speeds are terrible (50–60 Mbps on a 4GHz plan), constant disconnections, and the only “solution” every time is: reset modem, reset wifi, start all over again.

And here’s the best part — every time I reset the wifi, I have to physically take the extender outside, reconnect it to the modem, and wait 1–2 HOURS for it to sync. During that time, nobody in the house can use internet. This is beyond ridiculous.

We left a perfectly working internet connection for this mess, and now we’re stuck because of the contract.

This feels like false marketing and zero practical support. Extremely frustrating experience. Anyone else dealing with this? Any real solutions other than “just reset it”?

Hi @Saurabh49, welcome to our community! This is a tough situation! I'm afraid there's no standard solutions for this. If a cable is not possible maybe a powerline adapter could offer some relief? I can imagine if the other appartements have the same issue there are a lot of competing signals in the hallway. Have you spoken to your landlord about this? Or different neighbours?
