How does TV work within a KPN subscription? Login error in TV+ App on AndroidTV

When I was with Ziggo, I had (slow) internet and the ability to watch TV in the app installed to my Android TV. App was perfect.

I switched to fiberoptic internet from KPN. TV disappeared. NPO Start works with permanent bugs. I have other subscriptions and apps, like Netflix and Prime for movies. Need Nederlands news channels - and have no relevant access.

Searching through KPN web site I can’t understand what about TV in my Android TV? It looks like there is no app for TV. I installed it to my smartphone and it always returns login error. Also, it is absolutely unclear from the website - how to make TV available. It looks like the only option is to cancel subscription and then subscribe again and pay for additional device from KPN. Or not? No idea from website.

Unfortunately, Ziggo does not allow subscription to pure TV, without Internet.

Could someone please explain me.

Did you manage to add TV to your subscription? What Peter said was correct: we do have an app but it is only accessible when you have a TV subscription with us. 
That does mean that you'll get a TV-receiver, but it's up to you whether you'll use it or not. 🙂

We have a Smart TV+ app and a TV+ app for smartphones and tablets as well, so once your TV subscription is active you can pick any of those that work well for you.

This is actually what I can’t understand. KPN TV+ subscription includes payment for two hardware devices (TV+ Box en de TV+ Soundbox), right? At least, this is what I understood from website. I don’t need additional devices. It is like… mmm… mandatory purchase of VR glasses if you want to open Facebook.

Perhaps, I wrong, and there is a (secret) page that helps to understand this nuance.

The basic subscription is only internet without tv.

Above you can add tv.

As app only, without box

With standard TV+ box

With Soundbox 

You need the additional tv option to use tv.

Yes, ​@Sanne van KPN , I connected. The app works with some errors, and looks too expensive. I feel that I have to cancel this subscription, sorry for that.

Not a problem, I'm sorry the app isn't working well for you. Could you tell me what errors you are experiencing and on which device(s)?
Maybe we can find a solution for it so it at least works well for the period you’re still using it. 


I initiated the conversation in the other thread, as it seems to be more technical.  

However, it looks like the bug can’t be repaired in the foreseeable future...
