I lost my simcard for my subscription and I live abroad.

I lost my simcard, I have a subscription and I live abroad. I want to request a new simcard so it can be sent to me, but when I go online, the only way to request a simcard is by getting a text to the phone number I can’t access. 

The bot sends me to the same site on MijnKPN where I can only request a simcard by recieving a text message, I can’t call, i don’t know how to solve this. As I am abroad, I can’t go to a store.

 

Please help me!

If your phone supports e-sim then you could try this:

Nowadays it is possible to install e-sim by receiving a verification code via email and paying 1 eurocent via iDeal:

Install e-sim without old device

Have you lost your device or has it been stolen? Then you no longer have access to MyKPN, because you activate this on your device using a verification text message. Previously, you had to request a new physical SIM card before you could convert it back to e-sim.

From February 3, 2025, it is also possible to install e-sim via the KPN website: Install e-sim . This way you can still install e-sim on your new phone if you no longer have your old device, without having to request a physical SIM card first. Click on the link above and go through the steps.

Good to know: before we can install the e-sim, we want to be sure that it is you. That is why we check it like this:

  • We will email you a verification code that you enter when installing your e-sim.
  • We ask you to withdraw 1 cent via iDeal. We use this to check whether the account number matches.

Would you rather not pay 1 cent? Then you can always request a physical SIM card first and then go through the standard e-sim installation process .

Just a small addition: we can't send a physical SIM card abroad. It will be sent to the address linked to your subscription.
