Hi, I got the email to activate hbomax, but I click activate, it takes me to hbomax, then at the select provider I chose kpn, and I’m taken back to kpn offer page. it just goes on a loop. Also https://externediensten.kpn.com/Activeren page gives a 404

 

I was an hbo max user previously and switched to a subscription with kpn. i’m trying from my macbook

Did you do this from your internet connection at home, it only works from there.
Also it doesn’t work when you have a VPN connection active on your macbook.

 

To activate HBO Max you need a KPN ID and your “Thuis internet” subscription has to be added there, without doing that first you can't activate HBO Max.
Have you done that and logged on there first?

 


Yes, I’m trying from the home wifi, there’s no VPN

 

Is “Thuis internet” the mobile app? where do I find the kpn id?

I always get this error when clicking ”Activeren”

 

 

 


You can login with your KPN ID here https://inloggen.kpn.com/ or make a new one if you haven't done that that yet on the same page.

 

That activation page works fine here, I get the same login page as in the link above.


Yes, I’m already logged in to both kpn and the hbomax on the same browser. It should work, shouldn’t it? But the navigation flow directs me in a loop nothing is getting activated.


Yes it should, looks like you doing everything ok.

Then I don't know why it's not working for you.

You can call with customer service 0800-0402 (between 08:00 and 18:00), just tell to the computer you want to speak to an employee to get a real person on the phone.

Or fill in your forum profile, then a KPN employee/moderator can look at it, could take a couple of days before they get to this topic.


Hi, I got it resolved by creating a new hbomax account with the same email. Somehow it connected the subscription to kpn. Now it’s working fine.
