Plotselinge reset van thuisnetwerk naar fabrieksinstellingen: oorzaken?

Ik ben erg benieuwd naar de oorzaak van dit probleem. Wij hebben vandaag namelijk exact het zelfde. Netwerknaam, wachtwoorden e.d. zijn allemaal verdwenen. Enkel de fabrieksinstellingen resteren. Ook bij ons zijn de wifipunten vorige maand vervangen. De wifipunten zelf branden overigens wel groen.

Heeft iemand een idee hoe het volgende kan gebeuren? We hebben lange tijd veel problemen gehad met ons thuisnetwerk. Na veel moeite kwam er eindelijk een tweede monteur die het probleem direct kon bevestigen. Hij heeft alles vervangen, inclusief onze aansluiting in de wijkkast.

Nu net, ongeveer 1 tot 2 maanden later, is ons hele netwerk ineens teruggezet naar de fabrieksinstellingen. Alles is verdwenen: de logs, de SuperWifi2-punten stonden weer op paars, de netwerkwachtwoorden waren weg, en alles lijkt uit het niets gereset. Ik kan niets meer terughalen in de logs, maar ben wel nieuwsgierig hoe dit kan gebeuren eigenlijk.

Weet iemand wat dit kan veroorzaken?

Nu valt de verbinding WEER steeds weg. Kan niet eens meer naar de wifimanager, want dan krijg ik de melding dat dit netwerk niet van KPN is. Hoor graag hoe verder op te lossen… Meer dan een jaar gedoe met KPN.

In de log hieronder is ook zichtbaar dat het modem steeds reset op een of andere manier en daarna een log van 2020 geeft. Ik begin hier goed moedeloos van te worden… Er hangt niks van een splitter of wat dan ook in het netwerk. Enkel de (weer nieuwe) Superwifi2 punten...

Waarom je modem die 2020 logs laat zien, dat begrijp ik niet helemaal. Je geeft aan dat er eerder al een monteur aan te pas is gekomen om het thuisnetwerk én iets in de wijkkast te optimaliseren, kan je daar iets meer over vertellen? Wat heeft de monteur destijds precies gedaan?

Zou je nu overigens om te beginnen je glasvezelkastje een minuut of 2 van de stroom af willen halen? Als je hem daarna weer aanzet, wordt de verbinding opnieuw ingeladen en hopelijk lost dat de huidige problemen op!

We hebben nu al meerdere malen een monteur over de vloer gehad. De laatste keer heeft hij alle apparatuur vervangen omdat hij niet kon achterhalen waar de problemen vandaan komen. Het enige wat hij kon constateren is dat het goed fout gaat bij ons. Ook onze aansluiting in de wijkkast is vervangen (voor zover wij begrepen).

Het van het stroom halen van de apparatuur hebben we al lang geprobeerd, maar dit lost helemaal niets op. De ellende blijft gewoon doorgaan en ik weiger nu echt om nog een cent aan een monteur te betalen. We betalen al de hoofdprijs voor onze diensten en kunnen niet eens fatsoenlijk internet krijgen in een huis met slechts één verdieping. Dit is geen villa met 18 kamers die dekking nodig heeft.

Zelfs de wifimanager nu aan dat onze verbinding niet eens meer van KPN is. Dit is totaal onacceptabel. Hieronder de laatste log van dit uur. Ook hier gaat het ineens weer terug naar 2020 en klapt alles er weer uit.

Goedenavond,

Ik ben erg benieuwd naar de oorzaak van dit probleem. Wij hebben vandaag namelijk exact het zelfde. Netwerknaam, wachtwoorden e.d. zijn allemaal verdwenen. Enkel de fabrieksinstellingen resteren. Ook bij ons zijn de wifipunten vorige maand vervangen. De wifipunten zelf branden overigens wel groen.

Zojuist een medewerker van KPN gesproken. Schijnbaar komt dit probleem vanuit KPN. Iemand binnen KPN heeft meerdere klanten een nieuw IP-adres gegeven. Hierdoor vond er onverwachts een fabrieksreset plaats en daarom begrijpen mijn apparaten momenteel niets meer. Ik ben nu alles helemaal opnieuw aan het opbouwen en als dit niet doet wat het moet doen, moet ik weer bellen.

Ah, er lijkt dus een soort verklaring gevonden te zijn @DVDBZ. Hopelijk is het na het opnieuw opbouwen ook echt allemaal weer in orde!

Dit lijkt een verklaring te zijn voor de onverwachte reset van alle apparaten, maar ik vind het persoonlijk behoorlijk raar dat hier geen communicatie over is uitgegaan naar deze klanten als dit bekend was.

Als ik de router naar fabrieksinstellingen zet, worden er automatisch gegevens opgehaald (eigen wifinaam, wachtwoord, etc.). Hierdoor krijg ik geen schone configuratie meer, waardoor het probleem blijft bestaan. Is er een manier waarop ik een flush op de backend kan doen om dit te verhelpen? Want alles geeft nog altijd aan dat ik niet meer op een KPN verbinding zit.

Want sorry, maar ik ga echt geen kosten meer maken voor een monteur nu ik begrijp dat dit probleem vanuit KPN is ontstaan. Helemaal na het verleden met non-stop gedoe.

Dit is in ieder geval niet iets dat bekend was, en persoonlijk komt het me ook erg vreemd voor dat dit op deze wijze gedaan is. Ik was echter niet bij het gesprek dat je gevoerd hebt met mijn collega dus ik weet niet precies hoe de collega tot deze conclusie gekomen is.

Na een fabrieksreset worden alléén wifinaam- en wifiwachtwoord opnieuw ingeladen, verder zou alles schoon moeten zijn. Als je dat ook graag leeg wil hebben, kan je opnieuw bellen met 0800 - 0402 zodat 1 van mijn collega's dit vanaf afstand kan resetten.
