Hi @krock21,
At this point, I would indeed suggest doing something with the fiber box; can you please disconnect the power for 2 to 3 minutes? That way, it will load the connection again and I hope this will fix the problem!
Hi @krock21, did you manage to give the fiber box a restart and what was the outcome?
Hi!
I will wait for the next outage and try it then
I did not have such issues for a while now
I can post updates here or you can close this thread and I will create a new one with an update
Ah, it's nice to know it hasn't happened for a while now
If the exact same problem occurs, you can update here!
I just had an issue again. This time in the logs I see:
```
TR-069 connectivity to (hengelo0.cust.kpn.net) has been initiated
TR-069 connectivity to (hengelo0.cust.kpn.net) has been closed
```
I see this log every 2 hours, and just now internet dropped with it
I powered off fiber box for 3 minutes, but it didn't help
I suspect it may be a router issue (KPN Box 12). I will try to change it to my own one and see
Did you manage to test your own router yet @krock21?
Hi!
Yes, just tested it and seems like it helped
With kpn box 12 I see issues every time I start tailscale vpn
Issues vary in size:
- Sometimes the internet stops working completely, and I have to restart the router
- Sometimes internet goes very very slow, and `ping google.com` shows me 30s
- Sometimes it slowly goes down to 0 seconds, sometimes it stays at 30s and the internet is basically not working
- Sometimes I see ping spike up to 5 seconds that goes down to 0 after 5 seconds. This is a best-case scenario
These symptoms apply to all devices that use internet, and to all connection types (wifi, cable, ...). Starting tailscale on my work laptop leads to internet issues on my personal laptop and phones
I changed the kpn box 12 to my huawei ax3, and I see no issues or ping spikes when connecting to tailscale anymore. It connects seamlessly, and seems like ping to some tailscale servers improved (was 200ms, became 10-30ms)
On some downsides I can't set 1500 MTU. The router doesn't have an option to do it, and I can only do 1492 MRU as the maximum value
I also couldn't get ipv6 on my router, but ipv4 works
One of my coworkers had the same issue and replacing kpn box 12 helped him, so my best guess now is that I got a faulty one
In the meantime, I will continue monitoring my internet and will post here if I see more issues
Let me debug it a little bit more. I connected kpn box 12 again and see no issues. Maybe it needs to be connected for some time to start producing them
