Wifi Extender is glowing purple when I disconnect it

My second WiFi extender was unplugged. Its now glowing purple. I have pressed reset and reconnected it to the modem with the wire and its green. But when I unplug it and move it it glows purple again.

When it's purple you have to connect it wired to you're modem for one hour. Then unplug it and it stays green. It has to install the software again
