Cancellation after moving abroad with two persons on one account, how can I get this sorted?

Hi,

I recently moved back to my country of origin from the Netherlands, and another person and I (we share one KPN account) wanted to cancel our KPN subscriptions using the online form.

The problem is that I did not receive a proof of deregistration from my municipality, and they were unable to issue one after I deregistered. Would an RNI excerpt be enough as proof for my emigration?

Another problem is that the other person has proof of deregistration, but after sending in the emigration form for her telephone number, it has not been canceled for over a month. Would that mean I, as the primary owner of the KPN account, have the ability to cancel everything associated with my account?

Thank you for the responses.

When moving abroad, we normally ask for an official deregistration document from the municipality. If that’s not available, an RNI excerpt can usually be used instead, as long as it shows that you’re no longer registered in the Netherlands. I’d recommend sending this along with your cancellation request so our team can check it for you.

Since you’re the main account holder, you do have the option to cancel all services linked to the account, but keep in mind that every request still needs the right documentation.

The official rules say these are valid documents: “proof of deregistration from the municipality, or your employment contract abroad, or a statement from your educational institution abroad.”
