Asus router valt soms uit (rood lampje)

Sinds kort valt internet af en toe weg (zowel wifi als bekabeld). Zojuist snel naar beneden gerend en ik zag dat op de ‘hoofd’ router een rood lampje brand. Na zeg 30sec werkt alles weer zonder iets te hoeven doen (niet handig met meetings :)).

Het KPN modem gebruik ik niet als router (wifi uitgezet) maar nu las ik dat deze beter in bridge mode gezet kan worden. Wie zou dit kunnen doen?

Andere oplossingen worden ook gewaardeerd uiteraard.

De asus router viel weer uit vanavond dus was er helemaal klaar mee. Heb hem er tussenuit gehaald en de Xperia 12 box ingesteld als hoofd router.

 

De asus router boven staat in AP modus (Access point). We gaan even kijken of dit goed gaat nu….

 

Blijft wel vreemd waarom de Asus beneden (vrij nieuwe zelfs) af en toe herstart.

Misschien eens checken of er nieuwe firmware voor beschikbaar is

Het is me uit jouw verhaal nu niet helemaal duidelijk waar de fouten optreden en hoe je e.e.a. hebt verbonden.

Is dit de huidige setup:

Internet → Experiabox → ASUS router → computer ?

Je zegt dat er een rood lampje brandt op de hoofdrouter, is dat de Experiabox? Daarnaast: komt je internet binnen via glasvezel of over DSL?

Setup is:
 

Internet → Experiabox → Asus router → Asus router (bridge mode) → Computer/laptop

We hebben glasvezel.

 

Lampje brand op de 1e Asus router na de Experiabox. 2e router (en computer/laptop) liggen er dan ook even uit.

Hoofd asus router is een RT-AX58U. Andere router is een RT-AX66u.

2e staat in bridge mode zodat de wifi overal hetzelfde is in huis.

De RT-AX66U heb je dan in Media Bridge Mode staan, zodat hij de wifi kan delen met de andere router. Ik ga er van uit dat je dat goed hebt geconfigureerd en werkend hebt.

De KPN router is een ander merk, dus dat zal niet werken met de Media Bridge mode van Asus.

 

In je log staan geen errors, is dit tijdens het rode lampje gelogd of ook ervoor? Als de verbinding wegvalt, zal je op dat moment ook een log-entry moeten zien. De router heeft door dat er iets niet klopt, want anders krijg je ook geen rood lampje te zien.

Hoi @Joost Dekkers, het lijkt erop dat de router zichzelf herstart, want de actieve tijd dient veel hoger te liggen. Dus ik zou hem er eens tussenuit halen en de KPN ExperiaBox hetzelfde SSID te laten uitzenden, en kijken of het dan wel goed blijft gaan.

Hoi @Joost Dekkers, het lijkt erop dat de router zichzelf herstart, want de actieve tijd dient veel hoger te liggen. Dus ik zou hem er eens tussenuit halen en de KPN ExperiaBox hetzelfde SSID te laten uitzenden, en kijken of het dan wel goed blijft gaan.

 

Gisteravond heb ik alles van KPN nog een keer gereset en ik zal de router nu in de gaten houden of hij zichzelf niet reset inderdaad.

 

Ik kan dat anders nog wel proberen van de KPN Experiabox, in het verleden wel gebruikt maar ik was er niet helemaal tevreden over en daarom een Router tussen gezet.

De asus router viel weer uit vanavond dus was er helemaal klaar mee. Heb hem er tussenuit gehaald en de Xperia 12 box ingesteld als hoofd router.

Blijft wel vreemd waarom de Asus beneden (vrij nieuwe zelfs) af en toe herstart.

Ik zag dat er een nieuwe firmware beschikbaar is. Vanavond maar even installeren.
