Last week I had KPN fiber installed with a Gbit speed plan, however the internet appears to be limited to 100 Mbps. I have tried using both wi-fi and a Cat5e cable on my laptop, as well as on both my partner’s and my phone, but never exceeded 98 Mbps or so. My laptop has a wi-fi 6 router, and is able to record speeds of 300 Mbps at work, so i know that isn’t the limiting factor. When i connect using the cable, if i log into Mijnmodem, it shows a Gbit connection to the laptop, but the speed remains limited. I have tried connecting the router directly to the modem, and have factory reset the router and powered down the modem too.
If i try and use the online helper, it tells me that my modem is blocked, possibly due to an unpaid bill, however my only statement is listed as paid, and the money has left my account. I have tried calling but haven’t had a chance to get a Dutch colleague to help translate the automated system, so i thought i would try here.
