My connection point is in a shared shed, can I have it moved?

Hi, good day!

I've moved into my house a year ago and I got the 2 year kpn internet subscription. Inside of my residence there were no connection points (FTU/ISPA), instead there was only the box in a shared shed. This is useless to me as it's too far and behind multiple walls, so the mesh extenders don't work because they are 5ghz and the 2.4 ghz normal extenders have insane latency, although they do somewhat work. I tried calling multiple times, 7-8 months ago, but I just couldn't deal with the exclusively Dutch speaking chat bot, it didn't react to words like "medewerker" or "help" so I just quit and decided to tank the bad connection. Now I need the internet functional and an ethernet cable connected to my house. What I wonder is:

1. Is the infrastructure repair and relocation covered free od charge as a delivery fault (storing) - because I've read somewhere, within the forums, that it should be?

2. Can a moderator help me make an appointment directly through this thread, instead of calling the chatbot?

3. If there are extra costs for wiring, what would those be?

Thanks in advance and all the best!

Just get an technician to check it out. If it is absolutely necessary they can start the work for an technical issue with the location of the FTU. Otherwise you can also go to mijnaansluiting.nl and start the procedure yourself, but you can only start it as an cosmetic move (you don't like the location even though it is in an appropriate place) but then you will have to pay. So best advise is an KPN technician.

Hi @Dab13, welcome to our community!

It's free if you currently have a DSL connection and you get a new fiber connection. You have some say in where they put the new connection point.
If you're already on a fiber connection or you want to move the DSL connection point you'll need to submit a request through mijnaansluiting.nl/ there might be costs associated with the move but they should give you a quote on that because it really depends on the situation. We explain this a little on our website too Glasvezel aansluiting verplaatsen | KPN

We have a special contact page for english customers as well on kpn.com/english

What type of connection do you currently have? If you have a fiber connection you could use a longer ethernetcable (up to 100m) to install your modem inside of your house.

Hi!

Thanks for the reply. I'll check out what you've linked I appreciate it. As for the connection: I already have fiber, so I would just need it in my house. I know there are longer cables ; but the thing is, it's a shed shared by 5 households and I don't know / feel comfortable to drill through walls and doors of a shared property. I appreciate your answer tho. Cheers

Thank you for the replies.

From what I gathered, I should call the ai chatbot and through the phone make an appointment with a technician for a storing? There might be costs associated but there also might not be, I'll have to check that with the company/technician. If that doesn't work, I'll have to start my own process through mijnansluiting. Thanks for the clarification. I'll see what I can do. Cheers
