My new internet connection is slow

I have just installed KPN internet today and the speed is very slow. Standing next to the modem, I only measure a speed of 20Mbps max. I have the 1 Gbit/s subscription.

I first installed the glasvezelkastje and then the Modem KPN Box 12.

The previous subscription was with Odido (T-mobile) and it was much faster so I don't think the location of the modem is the problem.

Is this common for a new installation and do I just need to wait for the speeds to increase?

You can find these settings under 'WLAN', on the left side of the menu when logged in to your Experia Box V10a.

You can also use the service tool to change your wifi channel.

    I think it’s not the connection’s speed, but the speed of your wifi.

    Try moving the modem around and check your wifi signal. You could also try to let the wifi work on another channel where there’s less interference.

    For a reliable speed test, plug in your laptop to your router with a network cable, and run speedtest.net.

    I will try the wired connection and moving the modem around. 

     

    How do I change the channel the Wifi is running on?
