Technician needed for glasvezel accesspoint in communal space outside my appartment?

Hi KPN team,

I have booked a transfer to KPN internet to my house on 6 January. However, the fibre access point for my building isn't actually installed inside my apartment but instead in the communal utility cupboards outside my apartment in the hallway.

The only access points I have inside are the ziggo one and the four pin old telephone socket. So I expect a technician will be required for the installation, since without it there is no way I can make the connection.

My question is if it is possible to arrange a technician for the activation date, and if I will still need to pay for it?

Thanks.

Hi @Pedro_5284 and welcome to our KPN Community!

We’ve had similar cases like this, and a technician isn't always necessary. You can connect a long internet cable from your fiber access point and have it go to your appartment.
It might be a bit of a hassle with making sure the cable isn't in the way and getting it past your front door (also making sure the front door can still close), but once it's there you can connect the router to it and the services should work!

If it doesn't work out for you, then a technician is the best option. For that you can make a call appointment with us. My colleague can then check and see whether they’re able to schedule a technician for you. 🙂
You won't need to pay for the technician if you’re unable to install your services and their help is required in order to install everything.

Thank you for choosing KPN as your provider! 💚 If you have any other questions in the future, feel free to create a topic here anytime.
