Where do you report network issues?

I apologize but I dont *yet* speak Dutch. I’m working on it.

I have KPN Gbit Fiber and live in Den Haag.

I’m having some issues with connecting to a server in California and it started a couple of days ago.

It looks like KPN is having issues with its switch at NL-IX.net.

I’m not sure where to report this issue.

Can you please advise?

Thanks!

Hello @RXWatcher, welcome. Based on the printscreen, I'd say there are no problems. Core switches only respond to ping request sparingly. As such it can look like packet loss, but it is not truly so. What kind of problems do you experience exactly?

The issue cleared itself. It was heavy packet loss. I understand routers can reject icmp pings but that wasnt the case here. It was a router that was experiencing heavy packet loss.

Normally if a router is rejecting icmp pings then the connections will continue on cleanly but my packet loss was quite severe. I setup VPSs in London, Nuremberg and Amsterdam(VPSs are cheap and I wanted to prove it was this peer point) to isolate the issues to my connection to my server on the Hurricane Electric network in California. It was pretty clear the issue was kpn→ nl-ix.

I’m glad its resolved and my connection is now solid again.
