Wifi does not work very good, even with SuperWifi 2

Hello

Last year in December i replaced ziggo with kpn as internet provider ,

installation was easy peasy - plug and play . well after a while the situation changed ,

on my xiaomi phone the signal drops every hour , on my sister's samsung is a bit better 2-3 times a day  ,

on my computer drops 2-3 times a day ( meh , ok ) on my laptop , the same .

in weekends is the worst (the router is located on the ground floor , my laptop on the first floor and my computer at the second floor) 

to improve the situation i rent from kpn superwifi2 - did not improve that much the situation .

can you please help me with this situation ?

Hey ​@Eriadorz. Welcome to the KPN Community! I can imagine that it is quite annoying that you have to reconnect to the Wifi all the time.

What it could possibly have to do with is the set lease time in the modem. That is why I would like to ask you to log in to the modem and check this setting. How to log in to the modem can be found below: 

  1. Open a browser and go to http://192.168.2.254 or http://mijnmodem.kpn.
  2. You no longer need a username. Enter your password and log in.
  3. If you have logged in before and set the password yourself, use that password.
  4. If you have not logged in before, you can find the default password on the sticker on the back of the modem.
  5. Do you want to set a different password yourself? After logging in, go to Settings in the left menu and select the Modem Password tab.

After that go to Thuisnetwerk and then DHCP. Under the KPN Software, you note the lease time in seconds. The default value is 14400 seconds (4 hours). If you want it to be 24 hours again, set it to 86400 seconds. Can you check if it's 86400 and otherwise change it to that? 

If that doesn't help or is already at the right value, I advise you to try a clean installation. This will reset the Experia Box and your SuperWifi point. Make sure that your SuperWifi point remains connected to the cable for 30 minutes after resetting. Below you will find how to do a clean installation.

You can also always speak to us directly by phone and get help with your problem. This can be done via a callback appointment at a time that suits you best!
