Unclear instructions about pairing new remote control

I recently needed a replacement remote for my kpn set top box which connects to my Sony smart tv. In the shop I was given the new remote in a box which had a leaflet and the shop assistant pointed me to simple instructions to pair the new remote when I got home. I followed those instructions which indicated I should use code 3 for a Sony tv. In fact this only partially worked as I discovered by working with Grok3 the new AI agent. What I really needed was to go to a pdf available via a qr code printed in that leaflet. Then select the new remote type (from 6 or so listed) and THEN select Sony which gave me a code of 340 which then fully worked. This leaflet is very misleading and I would recommend kpn taking a look and changing it or at least train their shop staff to point customers to the qr code rather than using the 1 digit codes listed which seem not to give fully functionality !
