I arrived back from vacation last night and as I arrived I noticed there is no connectivity available at my house. Given that I'm extremely tired and bunch of work related things I need to do, you guys managed to receive a lot of curse from my end in the middle of the night. I spent 2 hours looking through forums and reading how frustrated everybody is while trying to figure out how to restore my connection. This is unacceptable.Â
In one post I saw your own employee saying "We cannot guarantee everything will work out fine during these updates.", I mean the definition of your work is exactly to solve such problems. If you cannot guarantee then just hire random people and let them do random things, as customers will end up in the exact same situation, so what is the difference? It is not your customers problem if a script which is supposed to copy and restore old configuration stops working, it is an engineering problem that a team of engineers supposed to ensure that works, if this has failed do you still feel you have achieved your purpose? If this is the mindset you have you should really reconsider your technical approach.
Now that I managed to restore my connection, I am trying to restore the name of my SSID and wifi password, I noticed the toggle to turn off "Wi-Fi" on the Dashboard does not have any confirmation dialog. Considering nowadays none of the laptops have ethernet ports, disabling Wi-Fi accidentally can cause a lot of waste of time. This is a horrible UX and you guys should be ashamed of. Don't you have *any* UX person checking such details? If you have one already, reconsider if that is the right person. I lost another hour here just because I toggled the "Wi-Fi is on" unintentionally. I had to find an ethernet cable, and two separate converters to convert rj45 to usb a and usb a to usb c. I could have ended up on the street shopping around to find those if I hadn't stashed them away and available at my disposal. Please introduce confirmation dialogs for crucial things such as disabling Wi-Fi connectivity.
During the time I spent on this new dashboard, there were several exceptions thrown in the console and are not caught, I had to refresh the page several times as it went complete blank.
Even though you say this update brings a new user interface, there are several obvious problems that your frontend engineers skipped to actually make it decent. There are several responsiveness and localization issues.
As I was writing this, all of a sudden I am now unable to reach to http://192.168.2.254/ at all, after waiting a few minutes I was able to reach again..
I hope the time I took to provide this feedback results in something..
Kind regards
