Canon Pixma G3501 printer can not connect to KPN Box 12

Sorry for English only but I just arrived in the Netherlands.

My Canon G3501 printer will not connect to KPN modem/router.  

Printer is configured with Wifi name and password.

KPN modem/router sees the printer MAC and logs record that it is attempting to connect but sending a bad password.

The printer supports WPA/WPA2 with TKIP or AES2 encryption.   I have set the passphrase to the Wi-fi passphrase several times.

I have other devices that have connected with the specified SSID and passphrase.

Q: Does the KPN Box 12b support WPA/WPA2 with TKIP or AES2 encryption?
