KPN keeps delaying Fiber connection

At the end of November 2024, I received a notification that fiber connection would be available, so I switched from Ziggo in September. However, month after month, I kept receiving delay notifications, and after being told it would be available by May, the timeline has now become unclear.

KPN's speed is slow, and I regret switching to KPN given this situation.

Do you actually intend to provide a fiber connection or not? The delays are making it impossible for me to work. If you are not going to proceed with the fiber connection, please clearly notify me. I am tired of waiting.

Hi @sweettone, welcome to the Community! Unfortunately, delays can happen with the laying of the fiber. You say you switched to us already. What kind of connection do you have now?

The quickest way to stay in the loop about the status of fiber at your address is our KPN Netwerk page. You can enter your postal code and see what's current.

Hi @sweettone

Everything about the installation of the fiber optic network is in the hands of Network Manager KPN, and not with KPN the provider where you asked your question.

On the website of Network Manager KPN, you can see when fiber optic will be installed at your location using your postcode and house number.
Click on the following link for this: Network Manager KPN

In addition, you can always call Network Manager KPN for information on telephone number:
088 006 37 44
(Available on working days from 08:30 to 17:00)

KPN the provider only deals with subscriptions, invoicing and malfunctions and problems with existing customers.
Network Manager KPN is responsible for the installation and maintenance of the fiber optic network, and that is where you should go with your questions.

Thank you for your response. What I want to say is that this is extremely unfriendly to customers. Why do I have to check the website for the date or call every time? If there is a delay, shouldn't you be the one to inform us?

Moreover, a seven-month delay is unacceptable. A few months might be understandable, but this is far too long. Do you even have the motivation to complete this? If you are prioritizing other areas with higher demand, you should have made that clear from the beginning.

Even if the technology is excellent, your customer service has not improved at all in the past 25 years. Last time, I switched to Ziggo because of poor service, but I chose KPN for the appeal of fiber, despite having a bad feeling about it. And unfortunately, that feeling was spot on. You are treating your customers with complete disregard.

Hello @sweettone, I'm really sorry to hear that. The fact that this frustrates you is something I can definitely understand. Unfortunately I can't see why this had been delayed since KPN Netwerk is responsible for this. That means that at this moment you are using a DSL connection. Since you stated that it's impossible to work right now, I'm wondering if your current (DSL) connection is giving you problems. If you would like to fill in your profile, I can have a further look at your current connection.

The scheduled installation date has once again been postponed, from May-June to June-July.

KPN has repeatedly changed the timeline without providing a proper explanation. This is no longer just a “delay”—it is close to a breach of contract.

I am extremely frustrated with this company for failing to fulfill its original promise. I seriously believe that we should consider filing a formal complaint or even canceling the contract.

Are there others who have been affected in the same way?

What’s “good news”?

Enough is enough!

I understand your frustration, @sweettone.  What I understand from the earlier conversation here is that you currently have services from us. In which case there is no breach of contract. You have a contract with us for internet services, which you are getting. In addition to that, we are planning to connect fiber to your address. But that does not constitute a contractual promise.

If you would fill in your forum profile with your postal code and house number and reply here when you've done so, I can see if I can find out why it's been postponed again.
