Technician required for fixing fiber glas connection before placing order

Hi,

Approximately 1 year and a half ago I tried to move to KPN as there is a glass fiber connection available in my area. However after I made the order , I figured that the box for the glass fiber connection in my apartment was not functioning and needed a technician, however KPN could only arrange a technician after couple of days/weeks after the start of the connection resulting in having no internet and thus why I stopped the transfer during cooling off period and backed off the contract. You can see details here  in a previous post.

 

I am willing to try again to make the transfer to KPN but this time I want the glass fiber connection to work, so need a technician and fix the connection in the apartment or at least when the box/router is delivered to my apartment after my transfer. After making a quick phone call to KPN customer support they told me that “this is not possible” and you need to make the order and after you get the box then arrange for a technician if needed which again will take couple days /weeks etc. So they are basically telling me that again I need to stay with no internet and go over the cooling off period to understand if the glass fiber connection and internet connection will end up working.

 

Can that really be true? It sounds so absurd that while from the first try we know that there is an issue in the connection, they want me to take the risk of staying without internet and with no idea of when and if someone will fix it.

To clarify, the process of requesting a new connection triggers the rest of the setup process, including the scheduling of a technician if needed. Unfortunately, we can only arrange for a technician to visit your apartment after the order has been placed and the equipment has been delivered. This means that there might be a short period without internet while we work to resolve any issues with the glass fiber connection.

However, you can take advantage of our overstap service , which ensures that your current provider's services remain active until your new KPN connection is successfully installed. This way, you won't be left without internet during the transition.
