I got the exact same problem. In my opinion, it's absolute b******* that you are forced to use the TV receiver. It should not make any d*** difference. You only got one subscription log in code.It should not matter on which device is using. On your subscription , you can either use one active login or multiple. Depending on your subscription, it should not matter on which device it is. Because of this stupid error more and more complicated setups are needed. Due to the multiple and limited internet connechimps, there are only 4 ports on the modem so you will be required a switch. And if there is a network problem , they blame it on the switch personally, I find it unacceptable.
You have logging codes and pin on your subscription. If you use the log in, it should just work regardless of what device you use it. As a company, if you're unable to fix this, then you should be ashamed.
Let's take steam for an example. You can log in wherever you ar same with other accounts like Facebook or youTube or any other socialomedia if they can do it, why can't you?
Your personal pin and your contract.I.D should be the enough.
And depending on the contract you can either log in one device or multipl and have a separate menu where you can kick off any inactive accounts. Or is this purely so you can sell more devices as a company? If that's the case you should be ashamed. Bad customer service. It is.
Already bad enough that you pay for a t v packet and you still get commercial but that's just my opinion.
